Robert Perin

Robert Edgar Perin (Red) June 17, 1930 - February 24, 2023
Robert, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and husband drew his last breath on February 24th, 2023, at Providence hospital in Everett. He was 92 years old.

Dad was born in Longview, WA but lived most of his life in the Everett area. He was a longshoreman and had many special friends from the ILWU Local 19 in Seattle and Local 32 in Everett. There were also many others whose company Dad enjoyed, but during his long-life he lost some special people. These include wife Ruth Anne Kirchberg Perin, wife Darlene Kelsch Perin, best friend Dick Heinzen, and most recently his beloved daughter Robyn Lee Olson Perin.

Most of us will remember Dad's love of the forest and trees and especially Christmas trees. For many years he cultivated and sold them in the Everett area. He liked to say, "he sold the finest Christmas trees in the Northwest".

Dad was a great cook and over the years became a connoisseur of fine cuisine. He had no tolerance for poorly prepared food. It was no surprise that his children became excellent cooks themselves.

In 2014 Dad was able to realize his dream of seeing his beloved Ireland. He never tired of telling us stories about the customs he found so endearing, the beauty of the countryside, and detailed descriptions of everything he had to eat there.

In his late 80's Dad became legally blind, and although he lost his driving privileges, he continued to live with the same vigor, and vitality, he had always shown.

Dad loved football, especially the college team the fighting Irish from Norte Dame. He loved fine cars and was the proud owner of a convertible bright red T-Bird. He loved dogs, Airedales were his favorites. He loved to garden and can his own vegetables. Dad's day was never complete until he read his beloved Everett Herald.

Dad had five daughters Victoria, Judy, Robyn, Mary, and Theresa, two sons Brian and Patrick. He also leaves behind his wife Ruth and special friends Doris George and Marie Auckland.

A mass for Dad will be held on March 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Church (formerly Immaculate Conception) 2501 Hoyt Ave Everett, WA, followed by burial at Cypress Lawn in Everett. A celebration of life will follow at the Elks Club in Everett at 4:00 p.m. Please join us.
