Robert Carl DeLay
1942 - 2025

Robert Carl DeLay of Maple Valley, Washington passed away Saturday, September 13th. He was 83.

Robert was born in Sisseton, South Dakota on January 27th, 1942, to Clarice (nee Lohre) and Dallas DeLay. He served in the Army before settling down and starting a family.

Throughout his life, Bob coached and umpired Little League baseball and softball in Kirkland, served as VP of local 19 ILWU in the late 70's and enjoyed live and televised sporting events. His pride and joy came from his six grandchildren. 

Bob was preceded in death by his beautiful bride of 57 years, Linda; brothers Thomas DeLay and Dallas DeLay; granddaughter Kyndal Taylor and his parents. Robert is survived by his daughter Amy Taylor (Jon) of Maple Valley; son David DeLay of Oxford, Wisconsin; grandchildren Dan DeLay, Jake Taylor (Max); Cameron DeLay; Cody Taylor; Brandon DeLay; Kelby Duvall (Evan); great granddaughter Delilah Coleman; as well as his siblings Dale DeLay, Michael DeLay and Holly Dollar. 

A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, October 4th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Light of Life Lutheran Church, 28525 216th Ave SE, Covington, WA 98042. The family asks that donations to Food Lifeline be made in lieu of flowers or meals.
