1899 and earlier

This page is dedicated to the past members of the Seattle Stevedore Society which was established in the late 1870's or early 1880's.
In 1886 the Society became the Seattle Stevedores, Longshoremen & Riggers Union (SL&RU).
This Union in 1909 became ILA Local 38-12 and 28 years later in 1937 it became ILWU Local19.
