History of the EGT Struggle at Longview, Washington

The EGT Rally
June 3, 2011

When: Friday, June 3, 2011 @ 11:30am - 1:00pm

Where: Meet on sidewalk near Salmon Street Springs Fountain SW Salmon St. and SW Naito Parkway, Portland, OR

Why: Join ILWU Local 21 and their supporters from across Oregon, Washington and California as we deliver the “Respect the Union Waterfront” message to EGT Development at a rally outside EGT's corporate office in downtown Portland, OR. EGT is a grain exporter made up of multi-nationals Bunge, STX Pan Ocean and Itochu. They've built a $200 million grain terminal in Longview, WA, and have not yet signed a collective bargaining agreement with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union. EGT needs to get back to the negotiating table with ILWU Local 21 and meet this simple demand: that EGT follow the same rules that every other grain terminal respects under the Northwest Grain Handlers Agreement.

Rally for safe workplaces!

Rally to support family wages & benefits!

Rally to respect the union waterfront!
