Special tribute to HECTOR GOULET.
HECTOR was the only surviving veteran of the '34 strike in Seattle
until he passed away, July 25, 2004. He had been a member of the Seattle
ILWU Pensioners Club since retiring in 1972. He was born September
22,1909.
There aren't many "34 veterans left.
We honor them specially for the great struggles they led to found
the ILWU on the Pacific Coast waterfront.
There are not many unions that can boast the continued gains that
have been made by the ILWU that HECTOJR GOULET helped to bring to
waterfront workers. May
his life be an inspiration to all of us to continue defending the ILWU
against all enemies, especially including the Bush gang.
