Winter 2000
From RUDOLPH MARTINEZ, President of our Pension Club -
copy from the San Francisco Bay Area Newsletter October Bulletin
2000:
"Congratulations to the newly elected International
officers and Coast committee and Executive Board members. It should be the
policy of our pension club to support our International officers in anyway
we can. By supporting them we build solidarity between them and us, and
with our support they can do their job better. We also want them to
remember that the rank and file has spoken, and they spoke loudly and
clearly that they want unity and strong leadership from the top and will
settle for nothing less."
A good message, RUDY. Unity has always been the key to
our success.
A very welcome letter from DON HOPKINS, Everett, Wa..
"Editorial Staff:
I would like to take a minute of your time to thank you all for sending me
copies of the RUSTY HOOK. After I retired in January, 1999 this paper has
helped me to keep up with brothers and sisters that I have worked with
over my tears as a member of both Local 32, Everett and Local 52, Seattle.
You will find with this note a check to cover my lifetime membership,
assessment and whatever the HOOK needs the rest for.
Thank you all and take care.
DON HOPKINS."
Brother HOPKINS enclosed a check for $500.00 which left
the magnificent sum of $355.00 for the RUSTY HOOK after dues and
convention assessment were deducted. Again DON we are forever grateful.
The RUSTY HOOK and the ILWU will live longer and better because of your
generosity!
A letter from Brother H. KNETTLE, Port Angeles, Wa.
"Gents:
Wasn't sure what to make out to. However this should do it. Keep up the
good work.
H. KNETTLE."
Brother KNETTLE'S check covered four years dues and
$12.00 convention assessment. Thanks to you, Brother KNETTLE. Every
donation makes a difference.
