Summer 2001

From EVELYN LANNGE, Seattle WA. She writes:
"To RUSTY HOOK:
Dear Friends:

This is to give you permission to take my name off your mailing list as my husband, NILS LANNGE passed away several years ago now.

NILS belonged to the San Francisco area ILWU in San Francisco. And I have been on their mailing list. I am an 86 year old widow now, whose memory is not so good now so I want you to use whatever expense it was for my memory is not so good now so I want you to use whatever expense it was for the good of the union. Nils was a personal friend of HARRY BRIDGES and helped to get the HARRY BRIDGES chair at the University of Washington.
Best wishes, EVELYN LANNGE.

P.S. He was a good union member."

Thanks for your consideration, EVELYN. We appreciate your concern. However we feel you should not cancel since one of our real concerns is to keep our Old Timers in touch with the membership and vice versa. Since you can write such a welcome letter we feel you can read as well. So, keep in touch, EVELYN.

From KAY ANDERSON, Seattle, WA. KAY sends a very welcome $100.00 to the RUSTY HOOK. No message except one hundred green ones. We express great appreciation to say the least! It is for a good cause and a good union.

From RAY H. NOBLE, Arizona via letter from his daughter:
"Being an obedient daughter I already sent in my father's $50.00 for PCPA assessment of $3.00 and the rest to go to the RUSTY HOOK.
Thank you,
TAMIA FAIRSTAD for RAY H. NOBLE."

Well, thank you TAMIA and RAY! It's nice to see "an obedient daughter" minding Dads business, especially when it comes to union business.

And from ROY MURRAY, Seattle, WA., a check for $200.00 for the RUSTY HOOK. Thanks, ROY
