Summer 2001
From CLARA GOLDSTONE, Seattle, WA. Sends in $30.00 dollars to cover
dues and convention assessment. No letter. But we appreciate her donation
especially because too few women are joining and paying dues. We need more
of them and we feel they need us to protect their pensions and medical.
So, don't let gender divide us. Join up, one and all!
From another of the feminine side: GALE GROVES who sends in $3.00 for
convention assessment. No letter. Thanks GALE for the same reason as
above.
From JERRY TYLER, EVERETT, WA., who, by the way, has a follow up
article from the last issue on international labor solidarity. He sends in
$100.00 dollars to the RUSTY HOOK. Jerry is one of our early supporters
and editor of the HOOK, predecessor of the RUSTY HOOK. We are more than
thankful, JERRY. Like many Old Timers JERRY went through the many labor
struggles of the now distant past and is still fighting the peoples'
battle for a better world. We need many more like him!
From VLADIMIR DZUTSOFF, Raymond, WA, addressed to PARKER JOHNSEN:
"Enclosed is extra $10.00 I did not pay and thank you for paying
it. What with illness in the family and as they say, Old Timer's Disease,
I guess we all forget."
VLADIMIR DZUTSOFF
Hey, man, we all suffer from Old Timer's disease.
God help us!
From WES YOUNG, Seattle, WA. WES, Local 98, is our guy who takes charge
of our barbecues, for which we are always deeply grateful. May his kind
always be with us! No letter, but a contribution of $100.00 to the RUSTY HOOK. Many thanks, WES; your generosity is exceeded only by your
barbecues!
From the TACOMA CREDIT UNION a very welcome $2000.00 donation to
the convention fund. Many thanks, Tacoma Credit Union. Your help is
generous!
