Summer 2001
From JACK DENNISON, Tacoma, WA.
Dear RUSTY
Just a line with my by-yearly donation ($50.00) and a word about
Brother JERRY TYLER.
Early one morning. after an evening of touring the popular watering
holes, I ran into JERRY in front of Nifty's while waiting for them to
open, he asked me it I would care to join him in a drink.
Anyone knowing JERRY would know he loved his Vodka! He had about 1/3
bottle of Vodka and a six pack of beer. As we conversed and toasted, the
Vodka shrank, reaching for the bottle he said, "its all gone, hell I
could have done that all by myself!!" He didn't care about the beer,
but he surely loved that Vodkall
Hello to all the Brothers - JACK DENNISON.'
Another letter and donation from JACK DENNISON.
"Dear RUSTY HOOK:
Since prices on power and water have gone up, guess expenses for you have
also. Here's a little something to help! Best to all - JACK DENNISON,
56356."
Well, thank you, JACK, for the great donations and the memories of days
gone by. We’re sure many other Old Timers have similar
stories from the rich past of the Seattle waterfront Send them in, please.
We owe an apology to Brother BOB SHERARD. BOB sent in a donation of
$50.00 to the convention fund and $25.00 to the RUSTY HOOK. We did
not credit him in our correspondence section, an oversight for which we
are sorry. After all, we cannot function without the support of our
readers. We want to give them full credit. But to err is human. Please
forgive us, BOB.
We are more than pleased to have an order from JOHN EHLY of the Tacoma
Old Timers for 25 copies of the RUSTY HOOK to distribute to their
membership. We are very grateful for the order and hope it will serve a
good purpose. JOHN has been an early supporter of the RUSTY HOOK. Thank
you very much, JOHN.
We want to pay special thanks to LOCAL 52 for their subscription
to the RUSTY HOOK. They subscribe for their entire membership and retirees
and pay regularly every issue. Such subscriptions are the backbone of our
efforts.
The same goes for LOCAL 19, which subscribes for their membership.
LOCAL 19 was the original sponsor and subscriber. We owe them a lot.
Also, the KELSO - LONGVIEW subscribes for 10 issues yearly, which
is appreciated.
