Another "no message" from MIKE CASO, Seattle:
$50.00 for the RUSTY HOOK. Such "no message" donations speak words to strengthen the cause of the RUSTY HOOK and our ILWU. Thanks a lot, MIKE!

A very welcome message from
LEWIS LOU LOVERIDGE, Carson, CA.,
in support of our convention expense, $50.00 donation. It should be noted that LOU'S contribution is strictly volunteer since he is not a northwest member. It is doubly appreciated. He says:

"Dear Fraternal Brothers:
I have enclosed a small token for your Pensioners upcoming Convention expenses. I am looking forward to being there if God willing. I have always sincerely enjoyed and appreciated the solidarity, comradeship and friendship of all your active members, delegates to conventions and caucuses also since retiring your pensioners, widows, etc., especially at all the pensioners conventions. I also appreciate receiving your "RUSTY HOOK" newsletter. I also appreciate phone calls from PAUL McCABE and others. I wish to thank your group that recognized and sent cards, calls, etc. regarding the passing of my wife DOROTHY. I have always considered Seattle a home away from home. Fraternally and best wishes for the New Year.
LOU LOVERIDGE."

Again we express our appreciation, LOU. It is Old Timers like you that have built the solidarity and union cause that we all enjoy. May the fates look kindly upon you.

Another $20.00 donation to the RUSTY HOOK comes from a long time supporter, JOHN EHLY, Tacoma. No message except the one that counts, financial support. Thanks again, JOHN. We know we can always count on you for the cause of strong unionism.

From JOHN S. or ALICIA M. BRACE, Dipotog City, Philiphines:
"Seattle ILWU Pension Club Dear Brothers:
Find enclosed my check for $17.00 for 2001 dues, $10.00, PCPA assessment year 2000 and 2001, $3.00 each and $1.00 for under payment of 1999 assessment. See enclosed receipt. Please send back my membership card to my Seattle address. Best regards to my contemporaries, FRED BERG, DICK MELTON, and all the others, think of you often.
Sincerely,
JOHN BRACE,56275.

Thanks for keeping up on your dues and assessments, JOHN. We hope you set an example for those members who may be behind.

Last but not least we wish to call attention to an outstanding donation to convention expense from A. V. "BUD" HAVLISCH who sends a whopping $500.00 for our PCPA convention. He writes:
"ILWU Pensioners:
Enclosed is a check for $500.00 in memory of SHAUN "JACK" MALONEY No finer or wiser dedicated union person has ever graced this planet. I would like this money used for PCPA expenses in the year 2001 convention.
Fraternally,
A.V. (BUD) HAVLISCH
ILWU Local # 52, Retired

P.S.  Long letter to follow when I get time. Well, many thanks to you BUD.

Your generosity exceeds our expectations.  You may rest assured it is very much appreciated and will be put to good use. Hope to see you at the convention. Thanks a whole lot
