Amos M. Whetung,
93, passed away 3/9/2011. He was a proud Native American. He was
born 1/2/1918 on the Chippewa Reservation in
Zeba
,
Michigan
. Amos served in the US Army during WWII. He worked in
Seattle
as a longshoreman (local 19) for 30 years until retirement. Amos
was preceded in death by his wife Georgianna Cross of 38 years. He
is survived by his 5 children, Joseph, John & Marilyn of
Washington, Elizabeth of South Dakota & Carol Anne of
England
; 4 grandchildren and many great - grandchildren; brother, Albert
& sisters, Myrtle & Chiz. Amos was a good Christian
man.His smile, warmth and gracious humble approach to life will
always be remembered by those who were blessed to know him. He
will be forever missed. There will be a family celebration of his
life. Urn committal service with military honors will be held on
Thurs. 3/31/11 at 2pm at
Tahoma
