Sam Kapahua, born on November 8, 1942 in Honolulu , Hawaii , passed away July 6, 2014 surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Susan; two children, Kelli and Kalani; nephew, Robert; brother, George, and sister, Ann (Bob) Kakalia of Hilo, Hawaii.

Having met and married his wife in Hawaii , Sam and Susan moved to Seattle , where they made their home and raised their family. Sam served 33 years as a devoted longshoreman in ILWU local 19, retiring in 2013.

Sam enjoyed cooking and was an avid sports fan. Above all, he cherished his family. He will be deeply missed and will remain forever in our hearts. Me ke aloha, your Ohana.

A memorial service and reception in Sam's honor will be held on July 27, 2014 at 1:00 at Evergreen Washelli. Aloha attire is welcome.
