Lawrence Bolson
1938-2022

Larry (Lawrence) Bolson passed away peacefully at home in Port Orchard WA on November 9, 2022 after a valiant battle with Parkinson's disease. He was surrounded by love and memories of a life well-lived in his beloved Pacific Northwest.

After graduating from Lincoln HS in Seattle, Larry spent 6 yrs. in the Navy, stationed in Japan, after which he worked 34 yrs as a longshoreman in Seattle's ILWU Local 19, regaling family & friends with the hilarious and hair-raising adventures of life on the docks.

In earlier years he was a member of Mountaineers & could be found hiking and climbing mountains in Washington's Cascades and Olympic ranges. When not appreciating time in the wilderness, he might be heard screeching to a harrowing finish down Pike Place Market's Post alley shouting "...Talk's cheap, Let's race" in one of the many hand-made soap box derby cars he drove during the early years of the race.

Summer vacations with the family at Lake Chelan are the stuff of family legend and "Uncle Larry" could always be counted on to make the 4th of July an absolute blast - literally and figuratively.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, daughter Lainie, sons Ian (wife Sarah), and Nigel (wife Brynne) and three beautiful granddaughters: Shay, Morgan and Haley. He was preceded in death by daughter Lisa.

His great sense of humor and love of family will be remembered dearly by all who knew him.
