"Bill"

William (Bill) Hazlett Arthur, 72, passed away on July 25, 2016 after a ten-year battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born in Seattle, Washington on March 23, 1944 to William and Marjorie Arthur. He graduated from Evergreen High School in 1962 and married Sharon in 1963. They lived in White Center Washington until he moved his family to Renton, Washington in 1967.

Bill was a member of ILWU Local 19 on the Seattle waterfront for 40 years, retiring in 2006. He was known as one of the best crane operators. He enjoyed his classic cars and belonged to Henry’s Haulers truck club.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Sharon, daughter Kelly Blackwell (John), son Brian Arthur (LaDonna) and four grandchildren Tyler and Allison Arthur, Garret and Dylan Blackwell. He was preceded in death by his parents William Arthur, Marjorie Anderson and sister Barbara Kaul.

Heartfelt thanks for support and loving care during Bill’s illness goes to his caregivers Domingo, Issaquah Nursing staff and Best Health Family Home (Cynthia, Billie, Danny, Jerry, David and Hazel). We cannot say enough about the wonderful last year of care at Best Health Family Home. Bill also received wonderful care and support from Providence Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Association in Seattle.
